Annual Day Function - 'VIDA' - Rekindling Life.

The Annual Day programme of H.K. College of Pharmacy was held on, 13th January’09 in the college campus. The event was named “vida” which in latin means rekindling life. The event was organized by the college students and the teaching as well as non teaching staff. It was supported by the college management as well.

The students actively took part in dance, drama, singing and fashion show and exhibited their talents which was very much appreciated by the parents and the chief guests of the event. “vida” was honoured by Dr. Kc Jindal who is currently the president of FDC Company, Jogeshwari. The other chief guests of the evening were Mr. Waseem Khan, the general secretary of H.K College, Mrs. Humera Khan, the treasurer of H.K College, Mrs. Surekha Nair, Principal of B.Ed College (H.K. College), Prof. KC Pandey, Director of H.K. Institute of Management Studies & Research.

The speech of the chief guests motivated all the pharmacy students and made them realize that indeed they were in a noble profession. Dr. KC JINDAL put forth the scenario of corporate world too in front of the students which enabled them all to understand the Pharma industry better.

The event started with a welcome dance and then geared up with lots of dance numbers. It included Bharatnatyam dance style, hip hop, western as well as Indian dance numbers. Students also came forward with classical songs, ghazals, and Indian film songs like kehna hi kya ( from movie ‘Bombay’), pal pal (from Lage Raho Munnabhai) etc. A hilarious skit’ Masti Ki Pathshaala’ was presented by 2nd year B.Pharma students which made sure that everyone at the event had a good dosage of laughter. The Fashion Show was the landmark of the event and students from 1st, 2nd and 3rd year took part in it.

The best part of the event was that even the professors took part in the event and made it more happening. Prof. Nirmala Lawrence contributed to the event by singing a western song 'On top of the World' and directing a funny play portraying Charlie Chaplin. Prof. Sonali Arte performed a beautiful dance on ‘Morni Baaga Ma Bole’ ( movie-Lamhe). Prof.Ajaz Ahmed choreographed the fashion show of 2nd year students and he along with Prof. Sonali Arte and students walked on the ramp. The hosts had done fabulous comparing of the event.

VIDA was an event which involved the hard work of all the students as well as the people who supported the event n made it happen. Parents and the guests who had come to watch the programe had good entertainment and appreciated it a lot. The event was a grand success by gods grace and the whole college is looking forward for the coming year to organize it in a even larger and more better scale.
