| Orientation to the B. Ed course |
| The students were given an orientation to the course, its requirements, expectations from the students, the rules and regulations etc. The professors explained to the students about the Part A and Part B requirements of the B. Ed syllabus, also details of each paper was explained by the in-charge professors. The orientation also included students introducing themselves and giving a brief outline about themselves, this helped in collecting important information regarding the students. |
| Micro Teaching |
| Five micro skills were selected; the students were first oriented to the concept of Microteaching, its requirements, and the entire process. The micro skills were first demonstrated by respective professors, followed by group work, which included teach and reteach sessions. |
| Practice teaching Lessons in School |
| Twenty Five reputed schools were selected as practice teaching schools by the college,. Lesson Planning workshop was conducted to familiarize the students to lesson planning. The professors in each subject using different teaching methods conducted demonstration lessons with school students. Each student had to observe the demonstration lessons and maintain a record. Respective method masters for each method did guidance, which is very important for practice teaching. Using Instructional material for each practice teaching lesson was compulsory. |
| Simulated Lessons |
| Innovative methods were used instead of usual chalk talk method while conducting simulation lesson and the students successfully completed their lessons under the expert guidance of their respective professors. During the course of the academic Year we introduce integrated Bridge LessonDrama/Role Play Method, Concept formation Model, Audio Visual Aid, Programmed instruction on Computer. |
| Lectures |
| Lectures constitute a very important part in the B.Ed year, and the professors used different techniques during their lectures like seminars, discussion method, assignments, self study, team teaching etc. team teaching was carried out in topics like Instruction materials, Curriculum, Models of Teaching, which was very much appreciated by the students. The LCD was very useful to the professors during their lectures. The college arranged for experienced Guest Lecturers to present their expertise to the students, which was also very much appreciated by the students as well as the staff members. |
| Unit planning workshop |
| An Evaluation workshop was conducted to provide first hand experience to the students regarding the preparation of a blue print, content analysis, weightage tables, question bank, scoring key, measures of central tendency etc. The workshop was followed by group work were the students were provided with guidance by respective method masters. each student had to prepare a unit plan which included, year plan, content analysis, weightage tables, blue print, question bank, question paper, scoring key and measuresof central tendency calculations etc. |
| Library Reading |
| The college library is very well equipped with many books, which include reference books, encyclopedias, autobiographies, text books etc. the library has very good collection of reference books which cater to the requirements of B.Ed syllabus The students are given open access to the books and make ample use of the library. The library also subscribes to many educational journals and periodicals, which have been a great, help to not only the students but also the staff members. Reference work was compulsory for every lesson. |
| Open Book Assignemnts |
| Each student was allotted units from the syllabus which they had to prepare thoroughly and open book assignments was conducted where the students were given the question at the last moment , and they had to write the answers , they were allowed to refer books while writing the answer. The open book assignment is graded and score is included in the internal assessment. |
| Essays |
| The students were divided into groups and throughout the course they were to write ten essays, the essay topics and questions would be displayed a week before the essay was conducted. The students had to answer the two essays in the allotted time. The Essays are graded and the score is included in the internal assessment. |
| Community work |
| On 7’th February 2009 a Visit to Shantivan, Panvel was organized for Community work, the students worked in the ashram school and spent time with the senior citizens staying in the old age home and also visited the Artisans who were being rehabilitated there , they showed the students how they made woven carpets and artifacts. |
| Internship |
| The internship program was conducted in selected practice teaching schools for 15 days, the students were required to conduct two supervised activities, administer unit test, maintain a record of each day, take proxy lessons, observe school records, maintain a daily record etc. |
| Educational Visits |
| Educational visits were organized for the students one was at the mani Bhavan ,Nehru Planetarium and Discovery of India Exposition; the exposition gave a glimpse into the evolution of India as a country and its journey through many years. And the Planetarium visit was very useful to the students, were experts briefed the students regarding the position of stars and easy navigation also the show was very much appreciated by the students. |
| Students Council |
| The student council was elected by the students and the staff members and ensured a democratic atmosphere in the college. The elected members were appointed their respective offices. The student council was responsible for the various cultural activities conducted in the college. |
| Co-Curricular Activities |
| As per the new syllabus implemented by the Mumbai University, each student had to prepare a Co- Curricular Activty based on the ten Core elements emphasized by the NPE 1986. For this the students were divided in to groups, each group had a in-charge professor who guided the students for their activity. The co-curricular activities were presented in the class and evaluated by all the staff members. Every student had to submit a co-curricular file which had information on the core elements, and their co-curricular activity information and pictures and CD’s of their programs. |
| Seminar Presentations |
| Every student was assigned a topic from their special methods and were asked to prepare papers on the topic, and the papers had to be presented in a seminar format where paper readings were done and then discussions conducted with the panel and the audience. The Students had to submit a Seminar file which contained all the papers presented by them . |
| Awards at Intercollegiate competitions |
| Many of our students participated in intercollegiate competitions held at other B.Ed colleges, and University and many won awards in the various competitions. |
| Individual Research work |
| Every student had to conduct a small research and prepare a project report on the same. The students were first oriented to project work, the format of research, terminology etc. Students were divided into groups and they selected their own topics, each group was under an in charge professor who provided guidance to the students. The project report had affixed format and all students had to follow the format. Viva was conducted by a panel comprising of Staff members. |
| Power Point Presentation |
| Every Student had to prepare two power point presentation following the lesson plan format in each of their special methods. Many B.Ed students also used power point presentations during practice teaching lessons. |
| Subjectwise Project Work |
| As per the new Syllabus, the students completed the prescribed project work in subject like Educational Psychology, Environmental Education, Guidance and Counseling, History Method, Educational Sociology etc. |
| Psychology experiments |
| The college has a special Psychology laboratory, with special work table for each student. The lab is well equipped with Psychology apparatus and Tests. The experiments were conducted in three separate groups to provide individual attention to the students. The latest equipments and the handling of experiments was highly appreciated by the students. |
| Computer room |
| The computer room of the college ha s25 computers with separated terminal and workplace. The computer students were provided adequate practical work to familiarize them with the course, the students used the lab to work on their power point presentations. The computer room is also well utilized by the staff members. |
| Examinations |
| Preparing the students for their final exams is very important and for this along with the regular first and second terminal exams the college also conducted special pilot exams to provide students with enough practice as to how to time themselves and how to attempt the question paper. Also Tutorials were conducted by grouping the students and providing them with extra guidance. |

| Sports day |
| The College Sports day was conducted on 26th December 2008 in the grounds. Various Events were held, separately for boys and girls. Certificates were provided to the winners and the best sports man and Sportswoman were awarded special prize. To encourage the students staff event was also held, which was enjoyed by the students as well as the staff. |
